David Slobodiansky, M.Sc.

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer

David Slobodiansky is a neuroscientist and business executive with more than ten years of experience leading commercial, operational and research teams. He founded TraumaShield and has led it to Phase II readiness, directing strategy, the clinical and regulatory pathway, device development, financing and partnerships. Previously, he directed the nationwide Sales & Marketing Division of Panorama Hatzafon, with full P&L accountability for more than $30 million in annual sales. He led an interdisciplinary research program on the neurophysiology of learning, combining preclinical electrophysiology, optogenetics and machine learning.

Mr. Slobodiansky holds a direct M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Neuroscience, both magna cum laude, from Bar-Ilan University.

Daniel Kolsky, M.D., M.Sc.

Co-founder & Clinical Lead

Dr. Daniel Kolsky is a physician and neuroscientist who bridges clinical psychiatry and translational neuroscience. He trained in clinical and therapeutic neuroscience at the University of Oxford’s Department of Psychiatry and is a psychiatry resident at Maayanei Hayeshua Medical Center. As Co-founder and Clinical Lead of TraumaShield, he leads the clinical program, from protocol design through site readiness, together with the company’s clinical advisors.

Dr. Kolsky holds an M.D. summa cum laude from Tel Aviv University, where he was named to the Rector’s List twice, and an M.Sc. with Merit in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience from the University of Oxford.

Amnon Gavish, D.Sc.

Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Amnon Gavish is a healthcare and technology executive with more than 30 years of experience building and commercializing companies. At TytoCare he served as Chief Executive Officer of North America and as global Chief Commercial Officer, with the North American business generating more than 80% of company revenue. He previously held senior leadership roles at Amwell (NYSE: AMWL), where he led strategic partnerships with Philips, Medtronic, Teva and Samsung; at Vidyo (acquired by Enghouse Systems), where he built the healthcare business to more than $15 million in annual revenue; and at RADVISION (Nasdaq: RVSN; acquired by Avaya). He served on the Board of Directors of the American Telemedicine Association and chaired its Industry Council.

Dr. Gavish holds a D.Sc. in Information Theory and Communications and an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and is a co-inventor on four patents.

Prof. Joseph Zohar, M.D.

Medical Officer

Prof. Joseph Zohar is one of the world’s leading authorities on PTSD, whose research established the scientific basis for secondary prevention — intervening in the first hours after trauma, before the disorder takes hold. He is Professor of Psychiatry at Tel Aviv University and former Director of Psychiatry at Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest hospital, and began his research career at the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health. He is Past President of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP), Chair of the Expert Platform on Mental Health, and founder of the Israeli Consortium on PTSD.

Prof. Zohar has authored more than 400 scientific papers and edited 18 books on PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder and treatment-resistant depression.

Prof. Eyal Fruchter, M.D.

Clinical Operations

Prof. Eyal Fruchter is a psychiatrist and clinician-researcher in PTSD and suicide prevention with decades of experience leading military and hospital mental-health systems. He headed the Mental Health Department of the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps, retiring as a Colonel, and later served as Head of the Psychiatry Division at Rambam Health Care Campus. He is a Professor at the Technion Faculty of Medicine, CEO of Maale HaCarmel Mental Health Center, and co-founder and Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs at ICAR Collective.

Prof. Fruchter studied PTSD treatment and prevention at the University of Southern California and has authored more than 100 publications on PTSD, suicide prevention and military mental health.

Sharon Daniel, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D.

Biostatistics & Innovation

Dr. Sharon Daniel is a physician and pharmaco-epidemiologist with more than 15 years of experience designing and analyzing large-scale clinical and drug-safety studies. He is Head of Innovation and Research at Clalit Health Services, Southern District — part of Israel’s largest healthcare organization — and a Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He has led population-based drug-safety studies across large Clalit patient cohorts, completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, and founded Genie Statistics, an AI-assisted biostatistics platform supported by the Israel Innovation Authority. At TraumaShield, he leads trial design, sample-size planning and the statistical analysis plan.

Dr. Daniel holds an M.D. from the Joyce & Irving Goldman Medical School and an M.P.H. and a Ph.D. in public health, all from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His research has been cited more than 640 times.

Prof. Barbara Olasov Rothbaum, Ph.D.

Clinical Advisor

Prof. Barbara Olasov Rothbaum is a world authority on PTSD treatment with more than 30 years of research in trauma and anxiety disorders, and an inventor of virtual reality exposure therapy, which she pioneered for combat-related PTSD. She is Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Vice Chair of Clinical Research at Emory University School of Medicine, where she directs the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program and holds the Paul A. Janssen Chair in Neuropsychopharmacology. She is Past President of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and received its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.

Prof. Rothbaum is a Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and the National Academy of Inventors, and has authored more than 400 scientific papers and chapters and 11 books on PTSD treatment.

Renana Eitan, M.D.

Clinical Advisor

Dr. Renana Eitan is a psychiatrist and neuroscientist and a pioneer of psychiatric brain stimulation in Israel. She is former Chair of Psychiatry at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), where she headed the Neuropsychiatry Clinic, and is Chief Medical Officer of Nuri Braintech. She founded the first neuropsychiatric unit at Hadassah Medical Center and treated Israel’s first OCD patients with deep brain stimulation. She also worked in the Functional Neuropsychiatry Lab at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Eitan is a Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Young Investigator and has authored more than 60 publications in neuropsychiatry, deep brain stimulation and basal-ganglia electrophysiology.

Mihael Bazhmin, M.D., MHA

Clinical Advisor

Dr. Mihael Bazhmin is a psychiatrist and healthcare manager with more than 10 years of experience in psychiatric care and service innovation. He founded and manages a national psychiatric home-hospitalization service that serves all of Israel’s health funds and the Ministry of Defense, and serves as Head of Psychiatry at MedTrix. As a senior psychiatrist at Sha’ar Menashe Mental Health Center, he headed its dual-diagnosis department, and he has been a clinical instructor at the Technion Faculty of Medicine since 2016.

Dr. Bazhmin holds an M.D. with honors from Samara State Medical University and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Haifa. He has published on psychiatric home hospitalization in the Journal of Medical Systems and on sensor-based schizophrenia monitoring.

Miriam (Isolde) Ben Hirsch-Gornemann, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Miriam (Isolde) Ben Hirsch-Gornemann is a physician-scientist with more than 35 years of experience in psychiatric epidemiology and trauma research across the United States, Europe and Israel. She was an Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Public Health and an expert reviewer for the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health, and as Director of Research at the IMABIS Foundation of Carlos Haya Regional University Hospital in Málaga she grew annual research funding to €15 million. She is a co-author of the SIX Cs model for immediate psychological first aid, led research at Heads Up, a UK charity for victims of terrorism and disasters, and has served as an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission’s Horizon programs since 2012.

Dr. Ben Hirsch-Gornemann holds an M.D. from the Autonomous University of Madrid, an M.P.H. from Boston University and a Ph.D. summa cum laude in psychiatric epidemiology from the University of Granada.

Shai Yarkoni, M.D., Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Shai Yarkoni is a physician-scientist and biopharmaceutical executive with more than 25 years of global clinical and leadership experience. He has led multiple Nasdaq-listed biopharmaceutical companies, including Cellect Biotechnology, which he took to its Nasdaq listing as Chief Executive Officer. He also served as CEO of Target-In and as CTO and Vice President of R&D at Collgard Biopharmaceuticals, has founded five life-sciences companies, and serves on boards in Israel and abroad.

Dr. Yarkoni holds an M.D. and a Ph.D. from the Hebrew University–Hadassah Medical School and an MBA, is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and has authored more than 60 scientific papers.

Ariel Ness is a technology executive, investor and investor-relations advisor with extensive experience leading and growing companies. As Founder and Managing Director of Vega Ventures, he advises early-stage companies on growth, financing, investor relations and go-to-market strategy, drawing on deep connections across the Israeli and international investment community.

Oz Malkesman, Ph.D., MBA

Business & Strategy Advisor

Dr. Oz Malkesman is a biopharma executive with more than 15 years of experience in drug development, having led teams of more than 20 and budgets exceeding $100 million. He is Vice President and Head of Portfolio and Program Management at Metaphore Bio, a company of Flagship Pioneering, the creator of Moderna. Previously, at Valo Health he led two Phase 2 clinical programs and the company’s FDA Type B meetings, and at Cerevel Therapeutics (acquired by AbbVie in 2024) he led three CNS programs from IND through Phase 1, with further program leadership at Kronos Bio and CAMP4 Therapeutics. He began his research career on a PTSD research project in the Psychiatry Department at Sheba Medical Center.

Dr. Malkesman holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, an MBA and a B.A. magna cum laude, all from Bar-Ilan University, and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health.

Danny J. Lee, M.D.

Regulatory & Development Advisor

Dr. Danny J. Lee is a psychiatrist and drug-development executive with about two decades of experience spanning FDA regulation and global clinical development of CNS medicines. As a Medical Officer and Clinical Reviewer in the FDA’s Division of Psychiatry, he oversaw hundreds of CNS investigational programs and was primary clinical reviewer for five new drug applications, including Abilify MyCite®, the first FDA-approved drug with an embedded digital sensor, and helped shape FDA policy for drugs with embedded devices. As Director of Global Clinical Development at Otsuka, he was clinical asset lead for Rexulti® (brexpiprazole), including its Phase 3 PTSD trials and the program that led to the first FDA-approved treatment for agitation in Alzheimer’s dementia. He is now Senior Medical Director at Xenon Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: XENE). At TraumaShield, he leads the Pre-IND Type B meeting strategy for the 505(b)(2) combination-product pathway.

Dr. Lee holds an M.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed his psychiatry residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He served as a U.S. Army psychiatrist and contributed to the 2016 VA/DoD clinical practice guideline for PTSD.

Tali Gorfine, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Tali Gorfine is a physician-scientist with more than 15 years of experience in clinical development across pharma, biotech and medical devices. She served as Chief Medical Officer of Galmed Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: GLMD), leading clinical development of Aramchol for NASH as it advanced from Phase 2b into a global Phase 3 program, and is Chief Medical Officer of OnKai. Earlier, she was a Senior Clinical Program Leader at Teva Pharmaceuticals and Medical Manager at BrainsGate, a neurostimulation device company.

Dr. Gorfine holds an M.D. and a Ph.D. in functional MRI research, both from Tel Aviv University.

Gil Bachar, Ph.D.

Regulatory & Development Advisor

Dr. Gil Bachar is an engineer and medical-device entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience developing hardware and medical devices. He is Founder and CEO of Magna Mater Medical, a fertility-preservation device company, and previously led hardware development at Corephotonics (acquired by Samsung in 2019). In 2020 he co-developed Manshema, an open-source, low-cost non-invasive ventilator designed for rapid mass production. At TraumaShield, he is technical lead for the medical-device workstream, from device design through design for manufacture.
